MODALITIES


We present the different specialties that make up the Olympic Shooting


The basic objective in all modalities of the Olympic Shooting is to hit a target, which can be mobile or static. The specialties into which it can be divided are:

Shooting courses

The competitions consist of different exercises, in which you shoot on moving or static targets, from one or more positions, and in which you score both the accuracy in the shots and the time in the performance of each exercise. The design of the exercises, within rules, is open to the imagination of the designer. There are several modes depending on the characteristics of the weapons used.
Open, Standard, Production, Classic, Revolver
You compete with pistols of different calibers and characteristics.

Plate

The goal is to break dishes. The number of targets, their trajectories and the number of shots vary depending on the different modalities, some within the Olympic Program and others just sports:
- Olympic: Olympic Pit, Skeet, Double Trap
- Sports: Universal Pit, Mini Pit

For the development of the tests a shotgun and cartridges are used, normally of caliber .12.

Precision

The objective in this case is to reach a target, static or mobile, as close as possible to its center, whose size, characteristics and distance change according to each event, some within the Olympic Program and others just sports:

To carry out the tests, pistols or carbines of caliber and characteristics depending on each modality are used.


Historical Weapons

Using vintage weapons (originals or replicas), the goal is to hit a target as close to its center as possible or to break as many plates as possible. The dimensions and distances at which the targets are located depend on the modality in question:

High accuracy

In this specialty, the greatest possible perfection in weapons, ammunition and execution of the shot is sought, in order to obtain groups of the smallest possible size. The characteristics, targets, distances and forms of scoring differ according to each test. All modalities are sports:

BR-50

Rifles equipped with a telescopic sight are used whose caliber and characteristics depend on each modality. It is fired from a sitting position and with the rifle resting on a turret.

F-Class

The objective is to hit a static target as close as possible to its center located at a distance that, depending on the modality, can reach up to 1000 meters away.

Rifles equipped with a telescopic sight are used, the caliber and characteristics of which are dependent on each modality. It is fired from the lying position with the help of a front and a rear support.
